Dreamfields Guesthouse is situated in a quiet part of Hazyview less than 2 km away from the centre of town and just 10 km away from the closest Kruger Park Gate which is Phabeni.

The large main house with its thatched roof and African style furnishings fits in perfectly with the atmosphere of the region and offers a comfortable lounge, African theme bar, and large sparkling pool. The big sub-tropical garden with its indigenous trees is a bird watcher’s paradise.

Dreamfields Guesthouse is run by a German/English couple Kristina and Neil Waitt. Due to Kristina`s long experience in the tourism industry, and Neil being a qualified field guide, they know exactly how to cater for the needs and expectations of their guests.

A variety of services are available, even route and trip planning.

Breakfast offered is of the highest standard, consisting of scrumptious warm food prepared by your host, supplemented by a buffet of products from the local farm stalls, served in the dining room or on the large patio.

Dreamfields Guesthouse offers five tastefully decorated guestrooms in an extra dwelling next to the main house; each has its own outside entry & opens into the lush tropical garden. Facilities: air conditioning, overhead fans, flat-screen TV with DSTV, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, en-suite bathroom, fine linen, hair dryer and a small veranda with table and chairs.

Hazyview lies on the Panorama Route, a bus from which all the attractions of the region can be reached with ease. Within 30 minutes guests can be exploring Gods Window, the unique rock formations at the Blyde River Canyon and sleepy towns like Pilgrims Rest.

There are many things to do and see in the area. A choice of several top class golf courses, horse-riding, walking trails and hiking, river-rafting, hot air ballooning and aerial cable trail are only some of the activities nearby to enjoy. You may also wish to enjoy a Dawn, Full-Day, Afternoon or Night Safari into the nearby world-famous Kruger National Park with a qualified Field Guide. All activities can be arranged prior to your arrival.

Panorama Tour

A full day tour winding your way through pine and eucalyptus forests whilst discovering some of Mpumalanga's most spectacular scenery and breathtaking views.

Your tour will take you to the breathtaking Blyde River Canyon, the third largest canyon in the world, to view stunning rock formations. Afterwards you will visit spectacular sites such as God's Window, Wonderview, Three Rondavels and Bourke's Luck Potholes.

You will visit the sleepy old mining town of Pilgrim's Rest, which has been lovingly preserved since the gold rush and is now a National Monument. Your day will not be complete without a visit to some of the most beautiful and refreshing waterfalls of the region.

Endangered Wildlife Tour

Enjoy an educational trip to a centre which contributes to the conservation of endangered species and the rehabilitation of injured and poisoned wildlife. You will visit the world-renowned Moholoholo rehabilitation centre and witness the techniques used on a variety of birds and animals. Get up close and personal for a unique interaction experience with the vultures!!!

After lunch you will visit Kapama Game Reserve for a tour of the breeding and research station. Kapama has several resident endangered species, including Wild Dog, the rare King Cheetah and Aardwolf.

Sabi Sand Night Safari and Boma Dinner

Depart mid afternoon for an evening of adventure. You will enter the famous Sabi Sand Reserve to arrive at a private Lodge where tea, coffee and biscuits will be served.

As you head off into the bush, your ranger will share the beauty and intrigue of the African Bush with you. He will also share some of the myths and beliefs of times gone by, pointing out various interesting medicinal and herbal plants and shrubs. Naturally game viewing en route, stopping for birds, and all things bush.

As the light dims, you will stop for sundowners, and your ranger will prepare the vehicle for nightfall, which will involve spotlight driving back to the lodge, looking for the unusual nocturnal wildlife, which one is sure to encounter.

On arrival back at the lodge, time to freshen up and get settled for a typical South African Boma dinner around the ever-indulging campfire. After dinner, settle cash bar account, and start heading back to Dreamfields Guesthouse.

Sabi Sand Morning Drive and Boma Breakfast

The itinerary is much the same as that of the Night Safari & Boma Dinner. As the morning breaks you will head back to the lodge for a scrumptious brunch, after which you may laze around the pool, or take a short walk with your ranger getting that much closer to the ground. After brunch at the lodge, settle cash bar account, and start heading back to Dreamfields Guesthouse.

Kruger Park Morning Walking Safari

Your walk takes place in the world famous Kruger National Park where a National Parks Ranger is ready to introduce you to a number of skills such as tracking, the use of plants and trees in medicine, as well as bird and animal identification.

Walks are conducted in an area that is renowned for its rhino population, which makes a "Big 5" sighting a realistic possibility. A short game drive to and from the walking area adds to the thrill of the day.

Kruger Park Sunset Safari

Experience the thrill of the African bush as day changes to night in the Kruger National Park . In the company of an expert National Parks Ranger, your safari begins whilst you savour the beautiful African sunset. You may pack a small cooler box for sundowners en-route.

At nightfall, the spotlight will be turned on for a search of Africa's "Big 5" from the comfort of an open safari vehicle, you are likely to see some of Africa's more unusual nocturnal animals.

Kruger Park Day Tours

Experience a unique view of South Africa 's largest and most famous game reserve, the Kruger National Park, in specially designed open safari vehicles or in the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle, accompanied by one registered guide, who is an all experienced Field Guide.

We will provide you with an exciting tour of the Kruger National Park , which is unrivalled in its variety of wildlife - 147 species of mammals and more than 500 species of bird recorded. Our guides will enthral you with their passion and knowledge of the bush and its inhabitants.
The openess of the game drive vehicle, allows guests to sense the smell of sun-warmed grasses, the tang of the dust and enjoy the heat of the day while the air-conditioned vehicle allows for a cool and comfy interior. Either way, sit back and relax as your guide shares his knowledge of this region with its abundant animal and birdlife, while in search of the elusive Big Five.

Shangana Cultural Village

The residents of the traditional villages of Shangana invite guests to share in the way of life of the Shangaan people. The picturesque villages are set in the shade of ancient trees in a reserve of forest and grassland, and are open every day.

A bustling African market village forms the centre of Shangana, where local craftspeople make and trade their craft. From here, trained guides lead guests down to villages on daytime tours, midday tours with lunch, and the famed Evening Festival in the Chief's Kraal.

Shangana has been created and built by local Shangaan people, and forms a place of great pride and a way of preserving a rich heritage, and an example of South Africa's great cultural diversity.

Skywaytrails

Experience the freedom of gliding over one of the last remaining natural forested valleys along the Sabie River. The aerial cable trail allows guests to glide down to the valley basin, stopping along the way on a number of elevated platforms to admire the natural vegetation, birdlife and views of the forest floor below.

Each section of the trail varies in length from 70 to 230 metres linking a total of 10 platforms, making this the longest cable trail in Africa (1,2km). The trail has been designed and built to South African civil engineering standards and all the equipment has been designed specifically for this activity and tested worldwide.

All groups are escorted by fully trained guides. Training has been provided by qualified persons with extensive experience in the cable trail field, and guides are assessed on an ongoing basis.

The Elephant Sanctuary

An experienced guide will introduce you to the elephants and you will learn about their backgrounds, behaviours, characters and more, while being able to touch, feel, feed, interact and walk trunk-in-hand with the elephants. Daily tours are offered:

Balloons over Africa

Enjoy a flight in an Hot Air Balloon and spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. The launch site is situated just where the foothills of the mountains begin, and the balloon floats over small hills and hidden valleys. The distant views to the west are of the mountains – God’s Window is clearly visible from the “other side”.

The views to the east are of the land gradually flattening out towards the horizon, with the Sabie River winding it’s way towards the sunrise. The vegetation is a mix of riverine forest, indigenous bush and fruit orchards, and the sub-tropical climate ensures that the area is green and lush almost all year round. This is a beautiful ballooning venue!

From Johannesburg - take the N12 to Witbank and onto the N4 to Nelspruit (from Pretoria, take N4 through Witbank to Nelspruit) From Nelspruit (45 mins) • Take R40 North to White River (passing straight through Rocky Drift). • In White River, at the first set of traffic lights in the town itself (with White River Toyota ahead of you), turn left, following signs to Hazyview and Wildtuin/Kruger National Park. • At the next traffic light, turn right - with the School Grounds on your left. • Cross over the next set of traffic lights and then at the final set, with a Caltex garage on your right, turn left on the R40 for Hazyview. • Continue on this road for about 45km, when you will come to a T-junction. • Turn left to Hazyview and travel a further 2km, to the second set of Lights. • Turn Right into Portia Shabangu Rd towards Kruger Gate. • Continue straight over first stop intersection, Shopping Centre on your right hand side • You will pass Kruger Park Lodge (KPL) on your left hand side • After KPL at the 4 Way Crossing turn left into Albatross Street • Continue along Albatross past the Bush Burgers Take Away • Turn first left into Drawwers Street and continue until the Stop-sign • Turn right at the Stop-sign into Gompou Singel • We are 100m from the corner on the right. From Sabie (45 mins) • Take the R536 to Hazyview. • Just before Hazyview (with the Sabi River Sun on your left) you will reach a T-junction. Turn right to Hazyview. • Go straight over the next stop street and continue to the traffic lights.
