The world-renowned Kruger National Park a short half-our drive (approximately 60km) from Nelspruit. View the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo) from your own vehicle on a self-drive excursion, or book a game drive from one of the many camps within the reserve. The beautiful indigenous Botanical Gardens are adjacent to the confluence of the Crocodile and Nels Rivers, only 3km from the Nelspruit city centre. View over 650 species of trees, the collection of cycads and the African rain forest. The gardens are open daily from 08:00. There is a restaurant and coffee shop, and picnic spots.
Sudwala Caves and Dinosaur Park
The Sudwala Caves are the oldest known. Hour-long guided tours are conducted daily through the caves, and for the more adventurous, a 5 hour Crystal Tour is available each month.
