 The KubuKwena Golf Lodge lies secluded on the magnificent Hans Merensky Golf Estate, situated just outside the town of Phalaborwa.

  This air-conditioned, en-suite luxury self-catering accommodation is designed to intertwine with the natural surroundings in the form of thatched accommodation.

KubuKwena Golf Lodge is a self-catering, fully furnished house that sleeps six people in three luxury en-suite bedrooms.

Kruger National Park:

The Phalaborwa gate of the Kruger National Park is 5 min from KubuKwena Golf Lodge, from where a variety of activities can be arranged.

Morning and Night Game Drives

Take part in the nocturnal activities of Kruger’s secretive creatures! This is your opportunity to search for game outside of normal gate opening times.

Guests congregate at Phalaborwa Gate and board a 10-seater game drive vehicle in the company of an experienced and armed guide. The guide will explain the procedure to be followed and then take the guests on a game drive in the park, all they way explaining the in intricacies of the bush. Should you encounter wild animals, the guide will give detailed information on that species.

Clients are to confirm with the Gate the previous day what time the game drive starts.

The drive usually lasts between 3-4 hours. Guests should wear comfortable clothing applicable to the prevailing weather conditions and bring their own cameras and / or binoculars. The guide will supply blankets in winter.

Guided Walks

Daily early morning and afternoon guided walks are available from the Phalaborwa Gate. Up to eight guests are taken to interesting places in the surrounding wilderness areas adjacent to Phalaborwa Gate. The walk itself is relaxed and experienced and armed guides use their knowledge of the bush to explain natural wonders.

Trained field guides with backup rifles take groups of up to 8 people out into the bush for a few hours. Track rhino, elephant and lion on foot and learn and observe fascinating facts about the African bush. Guests should wear comfortable walking shoes or boots, clothing applicable to the prevailing weather conditions and bring their own cameras and/or binoculars. No children under 13 allowed.
